"This document presents the "Canadian Export-Import Alphabetical index" which has been prepared by Statistics Canada. It has been designed to be used in conjunction with both the "Canadian Tariff and Imports Statistics Nomenclature Aligned to the Structure of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System" (Revenue Canada catalogue RV57-1-1-1987E) and the "Canadian Export Classification based on the Harmonized System" (catalogue 12-578E) . Its purpose is to facilitate the selection of the correct import 10-digit Classification Number and/or export 8-digit Export HS Number based on the user's understanding of a commodity description"--Introduction.
