For this study, the annual maximum mean daily floods for twenty-six streams in British Columbia are analyzed in five, ten, fifteen, twenty-five and forty-year periods from 1930 to 1969. If a short period can be found in which the averages are statistically similar to the long-term average, then this period may be of value in regionalization studies.
