The records are obtained through the provincial hospital Insurance commissions in the form of computer tapes or punch cards and subsequently standardized in format by computer for the purpose of producing national statistics. This report presents cases and deaths occurring in hospital and the death rate per 1,000 operations by sex and by classification of operation, for each province, and the total for all provinces.
