Cell suppression at Statistics Canada / Dale A. Robertson.: CS11-0018/1993E-PDF

"Statistics Canada has developed computer software (CONFID) to ensure respondent confidentiality via cell suppression. It assembles tabulation cells from microdata and identifies confidential cells. It then selects complementary suppressions to protect the sensitive cells. CONFID can audit proposed suppression patterns for safety and will balance tables with errors. The design and algorithms used will be discussed"--Abstract.
