"The reproductions in this portfolio cover all prints produced in 1959. The descriptions under the photographs of the prints include a serial number which is prefixed by the letters SS; SC; or SR. These define the prints as sealskin prints (SS); stone-cut prints (SC); or stone rubbings (SR) — this latter being a variation of stone printing. There is a limited number of prints in each series. Reproduction of these prints in any form is strictly prohibited except with the written permission of the Department of Northern Affairs and National Resources acting on behalf of the artists concerned."--p.
