Survey of family expenditures, 1947-1948 : expenditure by size of household.: CS62-D/98-1950E-PDF
“In the fall of 1948 the Dominion Bureau of Statistics conducted a survey of family expenditure in Canada which covered the twelve months ending August 31, 1948. This reference paper presents some of the results obtained from that survey. It covers the major items of expenditure by region and by family type for the non-farm population. Newfoundland is not included in the report as the survey was initiated before the union of Newfoundland with Canada. The main purpose of the survey was to provide a picture of the pattern of family expenditures in the post-war period”--p. [i].
