"A three day conference on Housing for Seniors - The Challenge in Northern and Remote Communities was held September 29 October 1, 1991 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This conference was recommended by participants at a series of twelve conferences on housing for seniors, during 1990, that were co-sponsored by CMHC with provinces and territories across Canada. They identified the need for a forum to address the special views and concerns of aboriginal and non-aboriginal seniors living in northern and remote communities in Canada"--Introd.
