The study documents the patterns of Aboriginal migration during the 1986-1991 period and provides estimates of net migration volumes and net migration rates for a variety of geographical areas. Separate estimates of migration are provided for the registered Indian, non-status Indian, Metis and Inuit populations. The characteristics of Aboriginal migrants and factors underlying migration decisions are also presented in the study.
