Retail trade, 1930-1951 (revisions to the intercensal estimates) / Dominion Bureau of Statistics, Industry and Merchandising Division, Merchandising and Services Section.: CS63-505/1955E-PDF
“Current (or inter-censal) estimates of retail sales are based primarily on a sample collection of representative stores and they are revised for accuracy each time that a new total survey, the Decennial Census of Distribution, provides the necessary check data. Revisions to the inter-censal estimates between 1930 and 1941 were made and published at the conclusion of the 1941 Census. They are repeated here in conjunction with the recently completed revisions for the inter-censal years 1941-1951 to show an unbroken series of retail sales from 1930 to 1951"--p. [3].
