520 |a“Statistics Canada's 1992 General Social Survey provides data on how Canadians aged 15 and over juggle their time in response to various responsibilities and lifestyles. Also included are questions which asked Canadians about their perceptions of time pressures. This first report from the 1992 GSS provides a general overview of Canadians' use of time. This is done by looking at the average hours per day that Canadian adults devote to various activities. Averages cover all seven days of the week. Such averages provide useful insights into how Canadians spend their time however are limited since they include all persons in the population (or subpopulation) whether or not they engage in an activity. For example, the average time spent in paid work or child care will appear low since the average is calculated over seven days and over all persons (including those not employed or who do not have children)”--Introd., p.
