"Canada has experienced a large increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) abroad, particulary in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This paper assesses the magnitude and pattern of this growth. Broad trends are presented, together with a more in depth examination of selected aspects of FDI using firm microdata for 1986."--Abstract.
