"The need to deal with changes in the basis of industrial classification is a perennial problem facing users of establishment-based data. A common strategy is to reclassify to a single version of the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC). This paper evaluates several automated techniques by which the statistical agency can perform that reclassification."--Abstract.
