"This report is the first publication to include administrative health data from the Canadian Chronic Disease Surveillance System to support the national surveillance of ischemic heart disease and acute myocardial infarction (a subset of ischemic heart disease also known as heart attack) among Canadian adults aged 20 years and older as well as heart failure among Canadian adults aged 40 years and older. It features the most recent data available from the surveillance system (fiscal year 2012–2013), as well as trend data spanning over a decade"--Executive summary, p. 1.
