"Alexander Morris met with assemblies of the Cree and Saulteaux nations at Qu’Appelle Lakes in 1874. His mission was to sign a treaty and thereby obtain the surrender of 75,000 square miles of Indian territory. The result was to be Treaty 4"--Introduction, p. 3.
