“The Standard Classification of Goods is the standard used by Statistics Canada to collect commodity data and to uniquely identify such data in data banks. It is based upon an international standard, the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System. The contents of this publication consist of an introductory text, a description of the Standard Classification of Goods (including general rules for interpretation and a list of sections and chapters), the Classification, and a concordance. The Standard Classification of Goods will be updated annually. Updates will be available in the form of a list of changes and amended pages.
