Statistics Canada recognizes the International Year of the Family .: CS11-0026/1994-PDF
"The Canadian family has undergone significant changes over the years. Many families are affected by separation and divorce. Family living arrangements may involve more than one household as well as many complex relationships. But while the Canadian family is in flux, it continues to flourish and remains the foundation of Canadian society. Statistics Canada welcomed the opportunity to showcase its publications, articles and other special events focusing on the family during 1994, the year designated by the United Nations as the International Year of the Family. The Agency is proud of its contribution to research and understanding of the family in Canada, and is delighted to introduce or reacquaint you with the many activities - in many forms - that marked its recognition of the International Year of the Family."--p.
