520 |a"This study explores empirically the long-term trends of government output and its input structure in the Canadian economy for the past four decades, i.e., 1961 to 2000. Since the government production activities, which generate the output, are treated as industries in the Canadian input-output tables, the industry input matrices show outlays on the utilization of human and material resource inputs for the government output. The data of these input matrices have been used for empirical analysis. In other words, the analysis is based on the industry input data of the government sector, as defined and measured in the Canadian input-output tables"--Executive summary.
