Physical, chemical and biological oceanographic data collected in Douglas Channel and the approaches to Kitimat, October 2015-July 2016 / C.A. Wright ... [et al.].: Fs97-16/202E-PDF
"The Douglas Channel fjord system provides a shipping route that connects the west coast of Canada to the Pacific Ocean. The town of Kitimat at the head of the fjord system includes an aluminum smelter and an international shipping port. There have been numerous proposals to increase shipping of petroleum products through the fjord system. In light of the potential increase in shipping, the Government of Canada launched in 2013 a five-year programme to collect baseline physical, geochemical and biological data in the Douglas Channel fjord system and Hecate Strait under the World Class Prevention, Preparedness and Response for Oil Spills from Ships Initiative. This document reports physical, biological and geochemical data collected by Fisheries and Oceans Canada in the Kitimat fjord system and Hecate Strait during the third (and final) year of the programme (October 2015-July 2016)"--Introd., p. [1].
