Report on the use of the careers grant - 1992/93 : "a measure of excellence" / Report prepared by Marcel Fortier, Indian Government Support.: R32-360/1993-PDF
"Careers funding had a positive impact in 1992-93 according to activities reported by First Nations and Tribal Councils. Careers funding was given as grants under the Band Support Funding (BSF) and Tribal Council Funding (TCF) formulae. It was used for training purposes to employ Human Resource Development Coordinators, conduct training needs assessment, prepare and implement training plans and conduct training workshops related to the needs of the organization. First Nations have said that these activities have supported the development of their public administration. They suggest that the grant be stabilized within the BSF formula to facilitate the development of long-range training plans. This will allow the funding to be used to its fullest potential in advancing First Nations public administration development"--Executive summary.
