5203 |a"Observations of rainfall and runoff in the Newtown urban test catchment for the period from 1981 to 1984 are presented. Rainfall rates were recorded by a tipping-bucket rain gauge. Runoff flow hydrographs were measured by means of a rectangular sharp crested weir installed at the drainage outlet. Observed runoff hydrographs indicated the presence of baseflow caused by infiltration of water into the sewers. ... This data report is a supplement to an earlier report on urban runoff investigations in St. John's, Newfoundland, in which several computational tools for runoff computations were evaluated. This report presents the data from significant rainfall and runoff events and should be used in conjunction with the earlier report."--p. i-ii.
