520 |a"In order to gain an understanding of radon concentrations in homes across Canada, Health Canada’s National Radon Laboratory conducted two major cross-Canada surveys. Between 2009 and 2013, radon levels in approximately 17,000 homes were measured and the results reported to the homeowners. In 2015, the people living in homes that tested near or above the radon guideline in the cross-Canada surveys were contacted again, to see if they had done anything to reduce their radon levels. This is the first Canadian study to gather knowledge about the extent of residential radon mitigation actions taken by Canadians and the rates of reduction achieved by the various techniques employed”--Introd., p. 1.
