Urban design floods / by Jiri Marsalek and Gilles G. Patry.: En13-5/86-114E-PDF
"Approaches to design of flood protection in urban areas are examined. Such examination starts with a description of characteristics of urban floods and basic concepts of urban flood control and stormwater management. Further discussion deals with input data required for the planning and design of flood control measures. Such data include process parameters and physiographic and hydrometeorological data. The hydrological design of flood protection is based on special computational methods which were developed or adapted for urban catchments. The methods discussed include urban flood frequency analysis, empirical methods, synthetic hydrograph methods and simulation models. Finally, a brief overview of design procedures currently used in the Canadian practice is given"--Abstract, p. i.
