"We counted the nests of 53 heronries in 1980 and 56 in 1981. More than three-quarters of the colonies visited have been included in previous inventories. In 1980, the number of occupied nests had increased in slightly over half of the heronries for which we already had data. The opposite occurred in 1981"--Abstract.
