"British Columbia metal mines are regulated by a variety of provincial and federal government agencies which are coordinated under the provincial Mine Development Assessment Process (MDAP). This study evaluates the regulation of 15 proposed and operating metal mines in British Columbia based on interviews with 63 government regulators, mining company executives and public interest groups. A number of changes are required to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the current impact assessment process"--Abstract.
