"This bulletin presents some of the final results of the Census of Merchandising and Service Establishments, covering the retail trade in Alberta during the year 1930. The data that are given in this report show, for the first time, the size of retail stores, grouped according to annual sales, and the proportion of credit business done in retail stores. The first comprehensive figures of operating expenses are also presented, and an initial effort has been made to analyze the commodity sales of merchandising establishments"--p. 1.
