520 |a"The world is changing rapidly and Canada’s quality of life and prosperity, over the long term, increasingly depend on our ability to understand, develop and deploy game changing technologies. Global issues and challenges will shape the world and Canada over the next 20-30 years, and these technologies will offer potential solutions in a number of areas. To maintain a forward-looking perspective on these potential game changers, the National Research Council (NRC) launched a foresight exercise to identify areas critical to Canada’s future in which technology game changers have the potential to bring revolutionary impacts on Canadian well-being and economic growth. Over the last year, NRC has worked closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify key opportunities and challenges facing Canada over the next two decades. In order to refine its understanding of these challenges and opportunities, NRC used a web-based approach to seek insights from a diverse range of thought-leaders from across Canada during the period of February 9 to February 27, 2015. The results of this external input are summarized in this report"--p. 1.
