"The Arctic Ice Regime Shipping System (AIRSS) standard sets out the methodology to be used by the Master to assess vessel operations capabilities and limitations in ice when navigating in the circumstances described in section 8(2) of the Arctic Shipping Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations (ASSPPR). It also describes the format of the message that is to be sent, as required by section 9 of the ASSPPR"--Introd., p. 1.
