"In October 1965, as an introduction to the use of infrared scanners in Canada, certain areas were selected for investigation of infrared anomalies related to groundwater discharge into the Ottawa River. On the basis of this survey, the Lac des Deux Montagnes area, on the Ottawa River just above its junction with the St. Lawrence River, was selected for more intensive study in 1968 and 1969"--Abstract.
