Amitraz and its associated end-use product (dog collar use) : final decision document.H113-28/2018-2E-PDF

"Amitraz is an acaricide/insecticide registered for use as a slow release pet collar to control ticks on dogs. There is one domestic class end-use product containing amitraz for use in dog collars that is currently registered in Canada under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act. This re-evaluation decision pertains only to this use of amitraz (that is, the use of amitraz in dog collars). After a re-evaluation of amitraz for use in pet collars, Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act, is cancelling the registration of the product for this use for sale and use in Canada“--Re-evaluation decision, p. 1.
