5203 |a"Statistics Canada has been producing Public Use Microdata Files (PUMFs) from survey master files since the 1980s. Two key features in the production of PUMFs are the assessment of risks off disclosure at the unit and datafile levels and the implementation of measures to bring this risk to an acceptable level. This brief guide aims to provide the reader with a meaningful appreciation of the risks and issues surrounding PUMF data and to serve as a starting point for further study. The first half gives a general overview of concepts and issues, and the second half presents current techniques for the estimation of disclosure risk. While the guide was primarily aimed at Survey Methodologists, the first half is addressed to a more general audience"--Abstract.
