Proposed special review decision for fluopicolide and its associated end-use products : consultation.: H113-5/2018-3E-PDF

"Pursuant to subsection 17(2) of the Pest Control Products Act, the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has initiated a special review of pest control products containing fluopicolide based on the decision taken by Norway (Rotterdam Convention, 2016) to prohibit the use of such products in Norway due to environmental concerns. The initiation of the special review for fluopicolide was announced in December 2016. Pursuant to subsection 18(4) of the Pest Control Products Act, the PMRA has evaluated the aspects of concern that prompted the special review of pest control products containing fluopicolide. Fluopicolide is a fungicide registered for commercial use in Canada on vegetable crops, ginseng, tobacco, grapes, outdoor ornamentals and greenhouse ornamentals. All currently registered products containing fluopicolide are considered in this special review"--P. 1.
