"Between 1969 and 1980 the federal government disposed of hazardous wastes, principally organic solvents from its laboratories in Ottawa, at the nearby Gloucester Landfill. During 1981, field evidence indicated serious organic pollution emanating from the Landfill in general and from the federal government's Special Waste Compound in particular"--Abstract.
