Solutions to homelessness : Vancouver case studies / J. David Hulchanski ... [et al.].: NH15-777/1991E-PDF
"The study reaffirms that the best housing solutions for the homeless (and potentially homeless) are permanent accommodation, with a variety of associated services that meet the broad needs of tenants. Partnerships and multi-service organizations are needed to create solutions, and they require suitable government support and funding. Tenants should be involved in the solution, both in planning and running the housing. Good management and small scale projects are the best solutions. The study comments on broader issues also, such as the need for public intervention to maintain existing low-cost housing and to develop new units, and the need to fund both housing and services for special needs groups"--Summary.
