“Science advice for the eastern Scotian Shelf (ESS) Shrimp stock is provided to set a new quota on an annual basis. A full stock assessment is performed every other year, generating a Research Document and Science Advisory Report. In the intervening years, interim advice is provided in the form of a Special Science Response at a smaller meeting. A framework meeting is scheduled to take place approximately every five years for this stock. The purpose of this framework is to thoroughly review and critically assess the background information and the stock assessment methodology for the ESS Shrimp stock"--Introd., p. 1.
