This paper presents the background and describes the development of the permit system, outlines the mail surveys which sample the universe of hunters who have bought Canada migratory game bird hunting permits, briefly describes the parts survey which provides estimates of the species composition of the retrieved kill in each province and gives examples of the results of the system"--Abstract.
