Stock status update on the status of cusk (Brosme brosme) in NAFO divisions 4VWX5Z .: Fs70-7/2018-009E-PDF

"Cusk, Brosme brosme, is caught as bycatch in certain directed fisheries. The Industry-DFO Halibut Fixed Station Longline Survey (Halibut Survey) catch per station (standardized as kg/1000 hooks) has been accepted as the ongoing index for monitoring Cusk biomass. Resource Management asked Science to determine what the three-year geometric mean of the Cusk index is from the Halibut Survey. The information will be used by DFO Resource Management as guidance in discussions with various industry stakeholders on recommendations for management measures”--Context, p. [1].
