520 |a“Additional off-channel rearing habitat for juvenile coho salmon in the Englishman River watershed was provided through the construction of two side-channels, between 1989 and 1998. Historically, the largest contribution made by the side channels to overall production in the Englishman system occurred in 1998 (25%). In contrast the recently enhanced Clay Young channel contributed an average of 40% to smolt outmigration between 2009 and 2011. The relative contribution in these years varied only slightly (s.d. 3.8), suggesting that channel production as well as that in the wider watershed was influenced by similar exogenous factors”--Abstract, p. vii.
