The status of trumpeter swans in British Columbia and Yukon, summer 1985 / R. McKelvey.: CW69-5/8E-PDF

"A survey was conducted in July and August 1985 to determine the status of Trumpeter Swans breeding in British Columbia and Yukon. A total of 185 adults (white birds) and 53 cygnets were recorded. All areas except the Ft. St. John area had fewer swans than in previous years. Possible causes of those changes are discussed. The most likely reason for the decline noted is high mortality on the wintering area near Yellowstone National Park, U.S.A."--Abstract, p. i.
