"This study reports the findings of a twelve-month pilot program which examined the performance of rotating biological contactors (RBC) for the treatment of municipal wastewater. During this period suitable design criteria for removal of BOD5 and combined BOD5 plus nitrification were examined. Phosphorus removal, the effects of diurnal and shock loadings, and considerations of process scale-up were also evaluated."-- Abstract, p. i.
