5203 |a"Nesting sites of Glaucous-winged Gulls (Larus glaucescens), Pelagic Cormorants (Phalacrocorax pelagicus) and Black Oystercatchers (Haematopus bachmani) in the Queen Charlotte Islands were censused between 7 May and 11 July 1986. Nesting populations were compared to 1977 figures. Populations of Glaucous-winged Gulls and Black Oystercatchers were larger in 1986 than in 1977, but Pelagic Cormorant numbers had declined. Counts of Pigeon Guillemots (Cepphus calumba) in attendance around gull colonies were made"--Abstract, p. i.
