The development of clinical and policy guidelines for the prediction of criminal behaviour in criminal justice settings / Paul Gendreau, ... [et al.].: JS42-109/1992E-PDF
"Three hundred and seventy-two studies were classified into ten categories and subjected to meta-analysis in order to determine the most potent predictors of offender recidivism. It was found that the categories companions, behavioral history, personal anti-social factors, problems in the family or origin, gender/race and cognitive factors were the strongest predictors. Personal distress, e.g., anxiety, self-esteem and socio-economic status of the offender's family were very weak predictors." -- Abstract, p. 2.
