5203 |a"A survey of breeding Trumpeter Swans (Cygnus c. buccinators) was conducted in British Columbia and the Yukon in 1990. Survey routes were similar to those used in the 1985 survey, with the addition of one new route in the Beaver Creek area of the Yukon. A total of 322 adult (white) swans and 125 cygnets was seen. That represents an increase of 87.8% since 1985. Productivity in 1990 was 28.0%. Habitat conditions were good to excellent. Survival appears to be good in spite of the difficulties reported on wintering areas in the Wyoming-Montana-Idaho area of the United States"--Abstract.
