Final screening assessment : acetamide, N-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-(phenacetin) : Chemical Abstracts Service registry numbers 62-44-2 / Environment and Climate Change Canada, Health Canada.: En14-324/2018E-PDF

"The Government of Canada conducted a science-based evaluation, called a screening assessment, of phenacetin to address the potential for harm to Canadians and to the environment. In Canada, phenacetin is mainly used as a laboratory reagent in research activities. It is also used in a small number of hair dye preparations where it functions as a stabilizer for hydrogen peroxide. Phenacetin is also listed in a limited number of licensed homeopathic medicines. As a result of this assessment, the Government concluded that phenacetin is not harmful to human health at current levels of exposure. The Government also concluded that phenacetin is not entering the environment at levels that are harmful to the environment"--Provided by publisher.
