An atlas of contaminants in eggs of fish-eating colonial birds of the Great Lakes (1970-1988). Volume II, Accounts by chemical / Christine A. Bishop ... [et al.].: CW69-5/153E-PDF
"The Great Lakes of Canada and the United States have been a major arena for research and monitoring studies of pollution levels and effects. Today, there is an enormous database on the pollution levels in water, sediment and many trophic levels of the Great Lakes. However, it is often difficult for scientists and the public to easily locate a comprehensive summary of data concerning contamination in any or all of these trophic levels. This atlas provides a summary of the mean concentrations of thirty-nine contaminants and the percent lipid measured in eggs of seven species of fish-eating colonial birds sampled only by the Canadian Wildlife Service throughout the Great Lakes during 1970-1988. There are 4491 data points presented in the atlas; however, this does not include any contaminant data concerning biota in the Great Lakes collected by other organizations and agencies"--Introd., p. 7.
