"Aware of the magnitude and intensity of the summer 2017 wildfires across Canada and their effects on First Nation communities, the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs (the Committee) adopted the following motion on 5 October 2017: "That the Committee undertake a study on the response and long-term impacts of this summer’s wildfire on first nations communities, as well as emergency management and fire safety in reserve communities; that this study be comprised of no less than four meetings and the committee report its findings to the House."
