An assessment of the reliability and validity of the Security Reclassification Scale for Women (SRSW) / Jennie Thompson & Kaitlyn Wardrop.: PS83-3/412E-PDF

"Security classification occurs at admission and throughout incarceration to ensure that offenders are placed at security levels that are appropriate to manage their risk of institutional misconduct, including violence and threat to public safety in the event of an escape. The Security Reclassification Scale for Women (SRSW) is an actuarial tool which, in conjunction with professional judgement, aids in the security reclassification of federally sentenced women after initial placement. The current study assesses the reliability and the validity of the SRSW to determine its appropriateness for continued use in informing the security review process"--Executive summary, p. iii.
