"Objectives were to determine the diet of flightless young Pintails (Anas acuta), Gadwalls (A. strepera), American Widgeons (Mareca americana) and Lesser Scaups (Aythya affinis); investigate factors which influence food use and determine nutritional composition of duck foods. Diet was determined from dry weight of esophagus-proventriculus contents from 144 Pintails, 167 Gadwalls, 129 Widgeons and 135 Scaups"--Abstract, p. 4.
