520 |a"Regular spruce budworm (SBW) outbreaks are responsible for the most significant damage caused to Canadian forests. For over 50 years, researchers at the Canadian Forest Service (CFS) have been interested in this insect. This pamphlet aims to gather current knowledge on SBW, its cyclical outbreaks and control methods, and to illustrate how this issue can drive innovation. This overview focuses on the work carried out by researchers at the Canadian Forest Service’s Laurentian Forestry Centre (CFS-LFC). This research is made possible through our partnerships with researchers from other CFS centres, provincial governments, universities and organizations dedicated to forest protection, particularly Quebec’s Société de protection des forêts contre les insectes et maladies (SOPFIM)"--p.
