"The purpose of this study is to measure concentration in the Canadian financial services industry in 1987 and to analyse developments that have taken place since 1984. It represents an update of a previous study that focused on the period 1967-84. The international and domestic activities of chartered banks, mortgage loan companies, trust companies, financial cooperatives, and life-insurance companies are all considered"--Abstract, p. xi.
