"This pubhcation is the first in a series of separate reports devoted exclusively to the presentation of summary data of Vital Statistics for Counties, Census Divisions or Districts and Urban Places (by Province) for the year 1974. In previous years, beginning 1971, these data for the corresponding years were incorporated in the annual Vital Statistics publications — Volume I, Births (Catalogue 84-204), Volume II, Marriages and Divorces (Catalogue 84-205) and Volume III, Deaths (Catalogue 84-206). This separate report has been issued primarily with a view to facilitate users interested mainly in the General Summary Data and to eliminate any duplication of information in several reports"--Preface, 1974.
